Job Description

At Nua Counseling, we aim to deliver the highest quality of behavioral healthcare to clients in the Seattle area. We work with a wide range of patients seeking care for substance abuse and general mental health considerations. Nua Counseling offers many 12-step alternatives to recovery as well as treatments like intensive outpatient services, continuing care services, and relapse prevention.

We are seeking an experienced, communicative, and compassionate therapist to join our growing practice and support the physical, emotional, and mental well-being of our clients. The ideal candidate for this role will have experience in providing mental health counseling and overall, will listen to understand the needs of the client and finding the best approach to helping them achieve their goals.

Objectives of this Role

  • Support clients by delivering therapy appropriate to their unique mental health and recovery concerns
    Create individualized treatment plans according to client needs and circumstances
    Establish relationships with clients that allow them to receive the best possible care while maintaining professional boundaries and respecting confidentiality
    Continually assess client situations and provide the proper ongoing treatments
    When required, refer clients to outside sources or agencies that can better address their specific needs
    Collaborate as a member of a multidisciplinary, integrated practice to develop and deliver treatment plans to clients
    Perform all duties in a manner consistent with the American Psychological Association’s (APA) Ethical Principles of Psychologists and Code of Conduct and National Association of Addiction Professionals (NAADAC)

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • The ability to facilitate both group and individual therapies
  • Fluency with telehealth options
  • Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in an outpatient facility setting
  • Master’s Degree preferred, from an accredited or state-approved graduate school
  • Ability to obtain licensure in Marriage Family Therapy, Counseling, Psychology, Substance Use Disorder Professional, or Social Work
  • Training or experience in trauma-informed treatment and, or mindfulness skills is preferred
