We work with a wide range of patients seeking care for substance abuse and general mental health considerations. Nua Counseling offers many 12-step alternatives to recovery as well as treatments like Intensive Outpatient Services, Continuing Care Services, and Relapse Prevention.

We are seeking an experienced, communicative, and compassionate therapist to join our growing practice as a Clinical Supervisor to support the well-being of our staff and clients. The ideal candidate for this role will have experience in clinical supervision. This position entails growing staff members to licensure, conducting trainings, identifying resources for the practice, and model clinical interactions. The candidate will also supervise interns from various educational backgrounds while the intern maintains a small caseload.

Objectives of this Role

  • Provides supervision of Substance Abuse & Mental Health Counselor Trainees, students, and volunteers in accordance with WA State Department of Health.
  • Is responsible for monitoring the continued competency of each Trainees in assessment, treatment, continuing care, transfer, and discharge.
  • Maintains qualifications as Substance Use Disorder Professional (SUDP) and Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC).
  • Educates the agency on current patterns and trends, uses date-driven models to influence treatment, and track outcome results.
  • Helps implement the policies and procedures of the agency, including personnel, treatment services, file reviews and records. This position will also be versed in program development and auxiliary groups.
  • Prepares written performance evaluations annually for counseling staff.
  • Conducts regular staff meetings for all clinical personnel to discuss matters pertaining to treatment issues, policies, and procedures, case management, and staff relations.
  • Assists the Operations Manager in updating the agency clinical manual.
  • Coordinates assignments concerning intake assessment, individual counseling, group sessions, and educational programs.
  • Monitors the case managers’ implementation of a problem-oriented records system by periodically spot-checking case files from each case manager.
  • Advises the Operations Manager on specific training needs of clinical staff members and recommends an appropriate course of action.
  • Organizes curriculum program and content and monitors all treatment program sessions provided by the agency.


Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Graduate degree (or equivalent) from an accredited college or university; and is qualified as a Licensed Mental Health Professional (LMHC) and Substance Use Disorder Professional (SUDP).
  • Be versed in technology, telehealth, and Electronic Health Care Records.
  • The abilities to coordinate and supervise counseling and support personnel; to deal effectively with courts, probation department, and other agencies and professionals; and to develop and supervise successful treatment programs for various types of clients are essential.
  • Managerial and organizational skills are required.
  • Documented competency in clinical supervision.
