The Healing Lodge of the Seven Nations is a youth residential treatment facility which provides a safe and caring healing environment for adolescents. Located on 51 acres, our wellness program provides a peaceful environment for treatment balanced in traditional, cultural and spiritual values and practices. These values and practices foster respect, honesty, generosity, strong cultural identification and hope for positive life changes. The Healing Lodge treatment program integrates traditional, spiritual and cultural values with chemical dependency and mental health counseling to create a holistic approach toward healing. Residents include both Native American and non-Native from all areas of the country.
About the Position
The Mental Health Therapist provides mental health support and counseling to adolescents in an intensive inpatient chemical dependency treatment program.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Provides mental health counseling consultation and support for adolescent co-occurring disorders treatment team.
Provides individual and group counseling.
Develops treatment plans in a timely manner.
Assists in the treatment staffing of residents regarding mental health problems.
Coordinates mental health counseling activities within the department.
Provides assessment and testing of patients; interprets results of assessment and testing.
Ensures the maintenance of confidential patient files and charts as it pertains to mental health issues.
Provides mental health training for staff when determined appropriate by the Program Manager or Clinic Director.
Monitors and evaluates the effectiveness of mental health treatment activities.

This position as no direct supervisory responsibilities.
Education and/or Experience:
Master’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, or related field; and three years related counseling experience, preferably working with chemically dependent adolescents or in an inpatient chemical dependency treatment program; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge and understanding of diagnosis in the DSM IV TR as well as mental health assessment tools as related to adolescents. Knowledge of State, Federal, Indian Health Services, and CARF licensing, certification, and accreditation requirements preferred. Experience working with Native American adolescents preferred.
Certificates, Licenses, or Registrations:
· Must have a current Washington State Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) license.
· Must maintain a valid Washington State Driver’s License.
To perform this job successfully, an individual must have basic computer skills, including working knowledge in MS Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel, & PowerPoint.
