The Healing Lodge of the Seven Nations is a youth residential 24/7 treatment facility which provides a safe and caring healing environment for adolescents (male/30 beds and female/15 beds). Located on 51 acres, our wellness program provides a peaceful environment for treatment balanced in traditional, cultural and spiritual values and practices. These values and practices foster respect, honesty, generosity, strong cultural identification and hope for positive life changes. The Healing Lodge treatment program integrates traditional, spiritual and cultural values with chemical dependency and mental health counseling to create a holistic approach toward healing.  Residents include both Native American and non-Native from all areas of the country.

About the Position

The Support Services Program Manager position requires the candidate to be an active manager involved in all aspects of the programs and responsible for planning, organizing, developing and directing the overall operation of the Programs incorporating Education, Culture, Expressive Arts, Food Services, Physical Fitness, etc.  The Programs are managed in accordance with HL7N policies and procedures, current federal, state and local standards, guidelines and regulations governing operation compliance and in meeting the treatment needs of the Residents.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.

Provide direction and supervision to employees of the assigned programs.
Operates and manage multi-disciplinary programs that support a therapeutic community focused adolescent residential treatment center in support of the youth served.
Works as a member of a multi-disciplinary team, efforts should promote positive and supportive collaboration and teamwork.
Assists with screening and hiring of employees, completes employee performance evaluations and performance improvement plans.
Provides leadership and monitors employee’s performance to ensure the highest quality of academic, culture, expressive arts, physical education,, food services and other program activities are provided. To include documentation of resident participation, performance and behavior.
Prepares and plans the budget for equipment, supplies and services and forecasts the needs of the programs.
Collaborates with other departments to ensure the effective delivery of the Program services and resolve any issues related to operations.
Collaborate with grant writer on interest in new grant opportunities and creating grant applications.
Ensures delivery of Program Services and the program’s milieu serve the individual needs of each client
Establish and implement strategic and operational annual program goals
Ensure compliance with state contract and licensing regulations
Manage assigned staff schedule maximizing efficiency and effectiveness in the performance. Works with Human Resources, Staff Trainer, Program Supervisors and Department Director on training needs and delivery for program staff.
Reviews incident reports for completeness, accuracy and refers residents for Clinical observation or services, as needed.
Ensure Master Resident Schedule is synchronized with Skill Coach Unit schedule for appropriate level of coverage of program activities.  Review with the Program & Support Services Director on any adjustments and problem solve on areas requiring improvement.
Administers the program and activities functions of the care plan process.
Ensure staff receives timely training in the Care Plan for each resident and kept current to enable staff to provide highest level of support for the youth and, when appropriate provide input on ideas to assist in achieving their goal.
Meet with staff on a regular basis to develop, conduct and evaluate the effectiveness of each program and problem solve and create new innovative approaches.
Inspects activities functions periodically to assure that quality control measures are maintained to include monitoring cameras and meeting with staff on corrective measures.
Develops, administers and coordinates unit policies and procedures are followed and adhered.
Monitors changes in current federal and state regulations and make required adjustments to program operations, as required to meet compliance with agency standards.
Prepare a Performance Standards Matrix for each individual program staff to serve as a guide for documentation of performance to include information is documented on resident participation, achieving of required program goals and appropriately providing Residents with PBIS incentivizing points.
Other duties, responsibilities, and activities may change or be assigned at any time with or without prior  notice by the Program & Support Services Director.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

In accordance with the organizations policies and applicable laws carries out supervisory responsibilities for all designated personnel and contractors. Candidate is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, performance and evaluation of assigned personnel.

Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, training, and developing employees; planning, assigning and directing work; monitoring performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; and addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Education and/or Experience:

Bachelor Degree (BA or BS) in social service management, public health administration, or related field.
A minimum of five (5) years management and supervision work experience in multi-disciplinary social and behavioral health environment with essential components involving budget management, strategic planning, program management, performance standards and direct supervision of assigned personnel.
Knowledge and experience working with Adolescents required
Knowledge and experience working with Native American communities preferred.

Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be proficient in MS Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel, & PowerPoint.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; sit, stand, and walk; and lift up to  35 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment:

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Work is generally performed in an indoor office and/or patient care environment. The noise level in the work environment is generally moderate; normal-level conversation occurring frequently.
