Staff Therapist – triage clinician

UCR CAPS is looking for dedicated Clinician to provide Triage and direct clinical service to the UCR campus. The Triage Clinician provides services designed to assist students in optimizing their educational experience, minimizing the impact of illness, injury and emotional distress on students’ academic careers by coordinating mental health care through a network of campus and community resources. The Triage Clinician provides mental health screening and triage in a high-volume, fast-paced environment, and possesses excellent clinical skills in assessment, triage, crisis intervention and case management. Familiarity with the full range of mental disorders is essential, including safety concerns and indications for hospitalization. In addition, the Triage Clinician may conduct a weekly coping skills group, may provide a limited amount of short-term psychotherapy, conduct campus outreach activities, and other duties as assigned. The Triage Clinician must be able to work collaboratively as part of a larger team and communicate effectively with other CAPS clinicians, staff and the extended University community. The CAPS department prioritizes working with students from marginalized communities including Black/African American, Latinx, Undocumented, Indigenous/First Nations, Asian American/Pacific Islander, Multi-racial, and other students of color. The Triage Clinician will demonstrate commitment to diversity and inclusion with a deep commitment to supporting under represented groups in our community.

UCR CAPS is growing and we are currently looking for three (3) licensed Clinicians to join our team!

Education Requirements

Master’s degree in related area or equivalent experience.

Experience Requirements

4 – 7 years of related experience.
Demonstrated commitment and experience with Diversity
Minimum 1 year post licensure experience.
Experience designing and implementing multicuturally sensitive outreach programs and psychoeducational workshops.
Experience working in a university or college setting.
License Requirements

Current, valid license as an LCSW or LMFT.
Current, valid license in California as an LCSW or LMFT or ability to gain California Licensure prior to beginning work.
