Willapa Behavioral Health is expanding doubled in size in the last 4 years!  We are in search of a full time, day shift Psychiatrically-Sensitive Medical Assistant to be stationed in the Long Beach, WA location, with some travel to the Raymond, WA office.  Provide psychiatrically sensitive medical support for persons with mental illness, substance use disorders and co-occurring disorders. The Psychiatrically-Sensitive Medical Assistant supports the provider, nurse, or other staff with the daily coordination of patient care and patient access by organizing patient flow, collecting patient information, entering all patient information and clinical data in the electronic medical record (EMR), communicating key information with the physician/provider, coordinate with clinical staff to ensure continuity of care, working in an interdisciplinary team.

Willapa Behavioral Health provides outpatient services, is nationally accredited, and provides high-quality care with experienced professionals to the Pacific County since 1986.   Services include program include adult, child & family services, substance use disorder, and problem gambling, co-occurring disorders, and medically assisted treatment.  In addition, a critical service to Pacific County, WBH provides 24/7 Mobile Crisis Services. Willapa Behavioral Health has grown adding new locations and positions, expanding from 2 locations to currently 5 locations in the past two years. Willapa Behavioral Health’s location is nearby the Pacific Coast, providing affordable living with plenty of opportunities for outdoor activities including hiking, camping, fishing, biking, and much more.


§  High school diploma or GED required.

§  Current Washington State Medical Assistant certification (Certified) required.

§  National Certification through AAMA or equivalent preferred.

§  BLS required.

§  Basic computer knowledge required (Word, Excel, Internet, EMR).

§  Excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills.

§  Ability to work successfully in a team environment

§  Driver’s Licenses that meets minimum requirements by WBH insurance company

§  Ability to work successfully in a team environment

§  Driving record must pass our insurance company’s underwriting guidelines and be able to drive in all weather conditions, lightness, and darkness


§ Minimum one (1) year recent experience providing direct patient care in an outpatient or acute care medical or mental health setting preferred.


§ Demonstrated knowledge of basic medical assisting skills (i.e., taking vital signs, administering vaccines and medications, recognizing abnormal signs and symptoms, etc.); first aid; patients’ rights; universal
precautions; infection control; body mechanics; basic medical and nursing terminology.

§ Demonstrate competency in working with a diverse population

§ Demonstrated background of upholding professional conduct and retain the confidentiality of clients

§ Credible experience preferred
